1. Choose a vehicle that fits the route

A small vehicle is convenient in historic cities, but a family with luggage needs usable space. For mountain routes, consider engine performance and transmission; for longer drives, comfort matters.

The booking engine shows a category with an example model. The supplier may provide another model in the same category, so compare capacity and features.

2. Read the insurance and deposit terms

The lowest headline price is not always the best fit. Check the excess, exclusions, optional cover and the deposit that may be blocked on the main driver’s card.

3. Check fuel and mileage

Full-to-full is straightforward: collect full and return full. Other offers can include prepaid fuel or service charges. Also confirm whether mileage is unlimited.

4. Plan pickup and return

Check whether the desk is in the terminal or reached by shuttle, review opening hours and photograph the vehicle at pickup and return.
