At a glance: what to check before booking
- Identify the rental supplier before confirming
- Compare the total cost and conditions for the same trip
- Read who takes payment and which card the desk requires
- Keep the voucher and the correct support contact
Who provides the website, booking and vehicle?
The European Union’s Your Europe guidance distinguishes a rental company, which provides the vehicle, from an intermediary arranging a booking. In the MyRentCar journey, use these three roles to check the offer and the documents you receive.
| Who | Role and what to check |
|---|---|
| MyRentCar | Publishes guidance and connects you to comparison and booking. It does not operate the rental fleet. |
| CarRentalNet | Powers the search and booking experience. Read the selected offer and confirmation for payment, cancellation and support details. |
| Selected rental supplier | Provides the car and handles the vehicle handover. Check its name, station, rental agreement and required pickup documents. |
What does the affiliate relationship mean for you?
MyRentCar may receive commercial compensation from a completed booking made through its booking route. This affiliate relationship is disclosed on the About page. It does not make MyRentCar the company handing over the vehicle.
Use the site’s guidance to understand the questions to ask, then judge the selected offer on its own terms. An affiliate link is not proof of the lowest price, a particular vehicle or suitable cover. Check the final price and conditions before deciding.
How do you compare two offers fairly?
Set the same pickup and return locations, dates, times and driver details in both searches. Then compare the conditions below. A lower daily rate can still leave a higher total bill or a deposit you cannot meet.
| Check | Question before confirming |
|---|---|
| Total cost | What is payable now, what is due at pickup, and which selected extras or one-way charges remain? |
| Deposit and card | How much is held, which card is accepted, and must it be in the main driver’s name? |
| Cover | What is the excess, what is excluded, and who handles any reimbursement claim? |
| Pickup and return | Is pickup at a desk or by shuttle? What are the opening hours, fuel policy and late-return terms? |
| Changes | What is the cancellation deadline, which charges apply, and where do you request a change? |

Who should you contact after booking?
For a change, cancellation, delayed arrival or an existing booking issue, use the support route in the confirmation or voucher. For a pickup problem, locate the station contact and follow the instructions in those documents. Check the required reporting process if there is damage or a breakdown.
Keep the offer terms, confirmation, voucher, rental agreement and payment records together. If two documents disagree, ask the relevant booking support contact to clarify before confirming or collecting the car. MyRentCar can direct you to the relevant service but cannot change an existing supplier booking.

Who handles a cancellation or a booking problem?
Use the support details in the confirmation or voucher and check the applicable cancellation terms. MyRentCar cannot change an existing supplier booking.
